Support intuition with intellect for Practical AI

Updated: Apr 4, 2020

Our evolution as humans has followed a certain path. We were first very instinctive. Just like a primal instinct would suggest, the cave people would react. As the human brain evolved, we got intelligent. We decided to gather facts, learn from experiences and make intelligent decisions. These were decisions that could be explained or rationalized. Highly evolved human brains are intuitive. Enlightenment is probably the highest form of intuitiveness. This is where we accept what we imagine is right, and do not feel the need to explain or rationalize. Depending on AI is somewhat like depending on intuition. The machine learns and provides a decision based on learnt data patterns. But to the human, we have to accept the results just like we accept intuitions. That is where implementations could fail - the resistance to accept decisions that cannot be explained and feel like intuition based. So support intuition with intellect. Support AI based decisions in your workflow/ process with reports/explanation that help rationalize the AI based decision. Of course, some use cases might not need this. But it is an excellent way to have folks accept AI in their work life and decision making. That’s how we take steps towards Practical AI #abhayPracticalAI #artificialintelligence #ai #machinelearning
